What is Covid-19?

Covid-19 or Coronavirus is a respiratory illness.

 

What are the symptoms?

Symptoms include a fever, shortness of breath and a new and persistent cough.

 

How does it spread?

Covid-19 spreads through water droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes. It may be spread by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching your mouth, nose or eyes but this is not believed to be the main way the virus is spread.

Avoid touching

your eyes, mouth or nose with unwashed hands.

Wash your hands often

with soap and water for at least 20 seconds use hand sanitizer when soap and water is not available

Avoid close contact

with people who are sick and practice social distancing of at least 6ft (2m).
